Here is information about the trials that we have:

AKC: Eligibility: All dogs nine (9) months of age or older from breeds accepted into the herding program that are registered with The American Kennel Club are eligible to participate in herding tests and trials. However, dogs may enter an Instinct test at six months of age. All dogs nine (9) months of age or older from the breeds accepted into the herding program that are enrolled in the Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) program – formerly known as the ILP program – are eligible to participate in herding tests and trials. For complete set of rules and regulations go to akc.org/pdf/rulebooks/RG9001.pdf

AHBA: Herding Trial Program allows herding dogs and their trainers to demonstrate herding skills at graduated levels of herding training.  The emphasis is on accomplishment of requirements rather than on competition. For more info on AHBA Trials, go to www.ahba-herding.org

USBCHA: The United States Border Collie Handler's Association, Inc. (USBCHA) is the sanctioning body for sheepdog and cattle dog trials throughout the United States and Canada. It was founded in 1979 and has grown into an organization of more than 800 members. Members who qualify at sanctioned Open trials during the year are eligible to compete in the USBCHA National Sheepdog and Cattle dog Finals to determine the champion Open dog and handler for that year. The USBCHA held the first National Cattle dog Finals in 2001. http://www.usbcha.com/index.html
